Users, Invitations & Roles

Every person who logs into Claryn has a User account — a single global identity tied to their email address. A user can belong to multiple organizations through Memberships.

When you invite someone, you assign them a membership type:

TypeAccessConsumes seat
AdminFull platform access, settings, billingYes (admin seat)
CollaboratorOperational access to enabled productsYes (collaborator seat)
AuditorRead-only access to the Audit Portal onlyNo
SupplierAccess to the Supplier Portal onlyNo

A user can hold multiple membership types in the same organization (for example, admin and auditor).

  1. Go to Settings → Members → Invite
  2. Enter the invitee’s email address
  3. Select the membership type
  4. Click Send invitation

The invitee receives an email with a link. If they don’t have a Claryn account yet, they’ll be prompted to create one. The seat is consumed at the moment of invitation.

Pending invitations are listed under Settings → Members → Pending. You can revoke an invitation before it is accepted; the seat is released when the invitation is revoked.

StatusMeaning
InvitedInvitation sent, not yet accepted
ActiveMember has accepted and can access the platform
SuspendedTemporarily blocked; seat is still consumed
RevokedAccess permanently removed; seat released

Beyond the membership type, you can assign additional roles to a membership. Roles bundle specific permissions and can be system-defined or custom (custom roles are available on higher plans).

To assign a role, go to Settings → Members, select the member, and click Assign role.
