Sending Documents
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- Admin or collaborator membership with an active seat
- Secure Exchange enabled for your organization
- At least one storage connection configured, or platform-managed storage enabled
Creating an exchange
Section titled “Creating an exchange”- Go to Secure Exchange → New Exchange
- Enter a name and optional description for the exchange
- Set an expiration date — the exchange and all download links become inactive after this date
- Attach one or more files
- Add recipients by email address
- Click Send
Recipients receive a notification email with a link to access the exchange.
Exchange visibility
Section titled “Exchange visibility”Exchanges appear in:
- Outbox: exchanges your organization has sent
- Inbox: exchanges your organization has received
Recipient experience
Section titled “Recipient experience”Recipients follow the link in the notification email. If they don’t have a Claryn account, they’ll be prompted to create one. After authenticating, they accept the exchange and can download the attached files.
All download and access actions are logged. You can review the audit trail under Exchange → Details → Access Log.
Revoking access
Section titled “Revoking access”You can revoke an active exchange at any time from Exchange → Details → Revoke. Revoked exchanges can no longer be accessed by recipients.
Expiration
Section titled “Expiration”Exchanges expire automatically at the date you set. Expired exchanges are not deleted — they remain in your history for audit purposes — but files become inaccessible to recipients.
